Hecheng Green Power Secures Nearly $15 Million in Angel+ Financing to Advance Hydrogen-Powered Data Centre Power Solutions

Hecheng Green Power New Energy (Wuhan) Co., Ltd. has completed an Angel+ financing round of nearly $15 million, with Zhaoxi Capital leading the round and existing investor Shunwei Capital making a follow-on investment. The company will use the proceeds to advance its high-power hydrogen internal combustion engine technology, deploy integrated computing-hydrogen-power projects and replicate its zero-carbon park solutions.

Founded in Wuhan in 2024, Hecheng Green Power focuses on ammonia-hydrogen blended high-power hydrogen internal combustion engines. Built around a modular product architecture, the company provides uninterrupted zero-carbon power, long-duration peak-shaving capabilities and integrated computing-hydrogen-power solutions for high-reliability applications, including data centres, off-grid sites and corporate microgrids. It is also pursuing overseas deployment of integrated energy systems under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The company is a participating drafter of a key national standard for data-centre power supply and distribution in China and is the only drafting participant focused specifically on hydrogen-power integration. In response to growing demand for computing power, Hecheng Green Power is developing hydrogen internal combustion engines as an alternative to conventional diesel backup generators for data centres, with applications spanning secondary power supply, long-duration peak shaving and emergency power generation.

In terms of project deployment, Hecheng Green Power has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with Tianyun Zhilian, an intelligent-computing platform company affiliated with the Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences. For the Tianshui Intelligent Computing Centre project, the first phase is planned to include a 5 MW hydrogen internal combustion engine power-generation system, creating a demonstration project for computing-hydrogen-power integration in China.

For international expansion, the company's generator sets have completed testing under EU Machinery Directive (MD), Low Voltage Directive (LVD) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) requirements. The company is also advancing CE and ATEX certification as it prepares to enter overseas markets.

As AI computing capacity expands, conventional power solutions face challenges in balancing reliability, cost efficiency and decarbonisation. High-power hydrogen internal combustion engines, with their load adaptability and operational flexibility, are emerging as an option for zero-carbon on-site power generation at computing parks.

Leveraging standard-setting initiatives and demonstration projects, Hecheng Green Power plans to accelerate the commercial deployment of hydrogen internal combustion engine power generation across intelligent-computing infrastructure.
