ZHANGJIAKOU, September 20th — The Hydrogen-Powered Zero-Carbon Artificial Intelligence Data Center (AIDC) project, located in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, formally launched as core hydrogen generator backup power systems arrived on-site for installation. Occupying a planned area of 10,000 square meters, the facility is designed to support approximately 500 standard computing racks.

The project adopts an integrated "Computing-Power-Hydrogen Synergy" operational model, replacing traditional diesel backup power systems commonly used in conventional data centers. Under its operational framework, the facility utilizes direct green electricity from local wind and solar assets for primary computing operations, while surplus renewable power is converted into green hydrogen via water electrolysis for long-duration energy storage. During renewable generation troughs or grid emergencies, the stored hydrogen fuel cell systems will be set to provide backup power and deliver grid-peak shaving services, achieving zero-carbon emissions across computing operations.
Constructed to support heavy AI model training and industrial simulation workloads, the AIDC will serve as a commercial demonstration platform for the "Direct Green Power + Green Hydrogen Storage + Fuel Cell Backup Power" technical pathway, generating operational datasets and providing a scalable technical blueprint for zero-carbon computing infrastructure across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
