GUANGZHOU — On August 20th, Hyundai Motor's hydrogen fuel cell system entity, HTWO Guangzhou, in partnership with GAC Commercial Vehicle, jointly hosted a new product launch and application promotion event for their 31-ton hydrogen fuel cell dump truck. The event was co-organized with the Huangpu District Urban Management and Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau and the Guangzhou Hydrogen and Integrated Smart Energy Industry Development Association.

The 31-ton hydrogen fuel cell dump truck (model D7F) represents the inaugural product jointly developed by HTWO Guangzhou and GAC Commercial Vehicle following the execution of their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Under the partnership, GAC Commercial Vehicle engineered and manufactured the vehicle platform, while HTWO Guangzhou led the R&D, production, and powertrain calibration of the core fuel cell system.
The vehicle delivers a comprehensive operating range exceeding 550 kilometers with a refueling time of approximately 15 minutes. Powered by a 100 kW rated system with a peak power generation efficiency above 63%, it is paired with a 16-tonne reinforced rear axle. The system features a dynamic load response time of under one second while achieving zero operational carbon emissions.
To support deployment, Guangzhou Municipal Government and Huangpu District have enacted dedicated policies designating muck and construction waste transport as key operational scenarios for heavy-duty hydrogen vehicles. Under these regulations, government-invested, state-funded, and urban village renovation projects are encouraged to mandate a 30% to 50% allocation of hydrogen-powered transport vehicles, integrating their usage into green construction assessments and corporate credit ratings.
