Qingqiji Electrolyzers Pass Acceptance at Sinopec's Zhongtian Hechuang Green Hydrogen Project, Achieving 3.98 kWh/Nm³H₂ DC Power Consumption

Release time : 2026-09-02 Source :Organizing Committee

Recently, three electrolyzer units supplied by Qingqiji for Sinopec’s Zhongtian Hechuang green hydrogen project successfully passed acceptance testing on their first attempt, with all key performance indicators exceeding the requirements set out in the technical agreement.

At a rated current density of 4,000 A/m², the electrolyzers recorded DC power consumption of 3.98 kWh/Nm³H₂ when measured using the current-based method. Using the flow-meter method, power consumption was measured at 4.153, 4.147 and 4.161 kWh/Nm³H₂, respectively. The three units achieved cold-start times of just 35, 27 and 25 minutes, respectively, and completed a range of performance tests, including load regulation from 25% to 110%.

Following Sinopec’s Kuqa green hydrogen project in Xinjiang, the Zhongtian Hechuang green hydrogen project is Sinopec’s second domestic 10,000-ton-per-year-scale green hydrogen project. It is also a national demonstration project aimed at advancing the integration of green hydrogen production with the coal-chemical industry.

Among the three electrolyzer suppliers selected for testing under the project, Qingqiji achieved the best test results and the fastest batch delivery. The successful acceptance demonstrates that its high-performance circular electrolyzer technology can meet the stringent requirements of large-scale, multi-thousand-ton green hydrogen projects, providing a technical benchmark for the large-scale deployment of domestically manufactured electrolyzers in major green hydrogen projects.
