Sinonic Precision Partners with Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo, to Establish Joint Lab for Water-Electrolysis

On September 3^th, Jiangsu Sinonic Precision Alloy Technology Co., Ltd.(“Sinonic Precision”) signed a cooperation agreement with Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo, to set up a joint laboratory for new nickel-based materials. The two parties will jointly tackle key industrial-scale technologies for hydrogen-production materials.

The five-year partnership will see Sinonic Precision invest RMB 10 million in research and development. Professor Chen Zhangxing will serve as director of the joint laboratory and oversee day-to-day operations. The lab will focus on three core R&D streams: the fabrication and optimization of nickel-based catalysts for alkaline water electrolysis and anion-exchange-membrane (AEM) water electrolysis, as well as the development of synthesis routes for nickel-based catalysts for proton-exchange-membrane (PEM) water electrolysis.

This collaboration will drive the company’s product expansion from electrode conductor materials to higher-value-added catalyst materials, build out a full-chain technology portfolio for hydrogen-production materials, and help the enterprise accumulate hydrogen-sector technologies and specialized talent.
